UK PROGRESSIVE MELODIC DEATH METALLERS ANNOUNCE NEW SINGLE & ALBUM
Leeds based progressive melodic death metal heavyweights PTEROGLYPH have revealed the release date for their crushing new single and official music video, Watchers, landing on Friday 20th November. Serving as the explosive teaser for their forthcoming eight-track album Suffer, scheduled for global release on Friday 29th January, Watchers captures the band at their most sonically relentless, fusing polyrhythmic crunch, heavy melodic scale, and atmospheric weight.
Driven by frontman and primary songwriter Jimmy MacGregor, PTEROGLYPH are anchored by a powerful core unit featuring drummer Bradie Nixon, bassist Will MacGregor, and guitarist Conor Braithwaite. Following critical acclaim across Kerrang!, Metal Hammer, Distorted Sound, and MetalSucks, the band reemerge with Suffer, their darkest, most technically demanding, and most brutally impactful material to date.
Hailing from Leeds and Northern England, PTEROGLYPH deliver progressive melodic death metal that seamlessly bridges technical virtuosity with raw, heavy grooves, drawing influence from Meshuggah, Decapitated, Gojira, Sylosis, and Devin Townsend. “This record represents everything we’ve learned as musicians, pushing the absolute limits of our songwriting and technical abilities further than we ever expected,” says frontman Jimmy MacGregor. “It’s been a long dusty road getting here, but we’ve crafted some of our most chaotic, volatile, and expansive music yet and we can’t wait to unleash it!”
Having built a formidable live reputation through sets at Bloodstock Festival and UK Tech Fest, alongside support slots with Decapitated, SikTh, Chelsea Grin, Signs of the Swarm, and Ingested, PTEROGLYPH return to the fold as one of the UK underground’s premier live bands.
